Financial Secretary Paul Chan stated in an address to the Biotechnology Investment Forum of BIOHK2026 on Thursday that Hong Kong is poised to be the "partner of choice" for linking global capital with Chinese biotech innovation. Chan highlighted Hong Kong's position as the world's second-largest biotech fundraising platform, with nearly 300 healthcare companies listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, boasting a combined market capitalization exceeding US$480 billion. He also noted that the Hong Kong Investment Corporation has allocated 22 percent of its funds to the biotech sector.
