Nvidia announced on Thursday that it is partnering with eight Australian data center and cloud companies to expand AI computing capacity in the country, targeting a buildout of up to 2 gigawatts by 2027. This planned expansion is set to more than double Australia's existing computing capacity of 1.6 GW. The participating companies will operate what Nvidia calls AI factories, with Nvidia supplying its DSX platform, accelerated computing, networking, software, and ecosystem support.
