UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg warned the Security Council on Thursday that the war in Yemen has entered a "new, more dangerous phase" after Houthi forces captured the strategic port city of Mocha, located near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Grundberg stated that since September 3, fighting has spread across multiple provinces, causing civilian casualties and displacing over 11,400 families. Houthi forces have also attacked civilian and energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, raising concerns about the free navigation of vital trade and energy shipping lanes.
