Hong Kong government's Silver Bond subscription hits record high, receiving over 470,000 applications with a total subscription amount of HK$119.3 billion.
The Hong Kong government announced on Friday that the latest batch (11th batch) of Silver Bonds received an enthusiastic response, with a total of 476,703 applications and a subscription amount reaching HK$119.3 billion, both setting new historical records. The final issuance amount for this batch of bonds is HK$55 billion, oversubscribed by more than two times, with an annual interest rate of 4.25%. Each successful applicant will be allocated a maximum of 13 lots, with each lot valued at HK$10,000. Hong Kong Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po stated that this reflects the popularity of Silver Bonds as a safe and stable investment option among the elderly, and the funds raised will be used for infrastructure projects and improving people's livelihoods.
