According to The Information on September 6, AI company Anthropic has committed to procuring up to $517 billion in computing resources ahead of its initial public offering (IPO). This massive expenditure is primarily for the next decade and relies almost entirely on NVIDIA's GPUs. This figure far exceeds Anthropic's previously disclosed expectation of approximately $180 billion in server leasing to investors by 2029. Amazon and Google have committed to providing over $300 billion in computing capacity, and Microsoft has also committed at least $30 billion in Azure capacity, all heavily utilizing NVIDIA technology. Analysis indicates that Anthropic's huge procurement further confirms that market demand for NVIDIA chips continues to outstrip its supply capacity.
