Broadcom expects Anthropic to surpass Google as its largest XPU hardware client by 2027.
Broadcom stated on its Q3 FY2026 earnings call on September 2 that it expects AI chip customer Anthropic's sales to surpass Google in 2027, making it Broadcom's largest XPU hardware purchaser. Anthropic, the developer of the AI model Claude, is expected to IPO this year. Broadcom also projected that shipments of its Jalapeno XPU chips to OpenAI will increase from 1.3 gigawatts in 2027 to 5 gigawatts by 2028. Despite Broadcom's Q3 revenue and adjusted EPS exceeding Wall Street expectations, its stock price fell after the earnings release due to a weaker-than-expected sales forecast for the current quarter.
