Japanese seafood giant Umios (formerly Maruha Nichiro) has invested in Thailand's Pataya Food Industries (PFI) by acquiring a 25.1% stake. PFI, established in 1979 and based in Bangkok, manufactures branded seafood and pet-food products, with a capitalisation of Bt280m ($8.4m). Umios stated that this deal aims to expand its processed food portfolio and sales channels in Asia, aligning with its long-term vision.
