Ihor Smilianskyi, head of Ukrposhta, stated that the service, which delivers pensions, medicines, and letters to people near the front lines, has become a lifeline for millions of impoverished and elderly Ukrainians. Russia has recently intensified its attacks on postal workers, sorting centers, and logistics hubs, resulting in the deaths of over 50 employees and damage to hundreds of branches and vehicles since 2022. Smilianskyi noted that Russia's actions are deliberate, aimed at weakening Ukraine's resilience, but the postal service will continue to operate.
