The University of Manchester has successfully leveraged NVIDIA's Earth-2 AI models and tools to develop a high-resolution air pollution forecasting model for the UK. The model, trained in just two days on the UK's national AI supercomputer Isambard-AI, can predict air pollution at a resolution of 2-3 square kilometers. This breakthrough enables the simulation of future pollution scenarios, such as the impact of government policy changes, and could provide proactive air quality alerts for healthcare organizations.
