The fintech firm received authorization from Colombia's Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia (SFC) to operate as a regulated bank and has formally submitted an application for a banking license in Switzerland with FINMA. This follows a year where Revolut reported $6 billion in revenue and $2.3 billion in pre-tax profit. The company plans to invest over SFr150 million ($183.2 million) in Switzerland over the next five years for product development and hiring. Revolut has also secured banking licenses in France, Australia, and the the UK in 2026, and is pursuing regulatory approvals in Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Argentina, UAE, Finland, and South Africa, including conditional approval for a US national bank charter.
