Dream Landing, a holding company ultimately controlled by Yao Jinbo, founder, chairman, and CEO of 58.com, sold a total of 11,848,934 Vanke Service H-shares in two rounds on the open market between June 10-29 and July 20-31 this year, reducing its stake to zero. This was disclosed in Vanke Service's interim report on September 10. Yao Jinbo, as a non-executive director of Vanke Service, failed to provide written notification as required by the HKEX's Model Code for Securities Transactions by Directors of Listed Issuers before both rounds of sales, and the July sale also occurred during the blackout period for interim results. Yao Jinbo stated that the sale was an "unintentional error" by 58.com's external investment management team, and that the team did not possess any inside information during the transaction period. He added that the team has since undergone rule training and strengthened internal reporting and approval processes.
