LatAm telecom operator VIVA puts part of its finances on Avalanche, using USDi stablecoin for settlement and dollar reserves
Bolivia's VIVA, the first carrier live on Iris, is leveraging the new network to integrate stablecoins for transaction settlement and to hold eligible operating reserves in dollars. Iris, founded by former IBM Blockchain partner Jules Miller, runs on a dedicated Avalanche Layer 1 blockchain and aims to help mobile carriers transform customer relationships into financial services. Iris debuted with a $43 million commitment from Balesia Group.
