Pakistani Senior Military Officers Pledge to Defend Saudi Arabia "At All Costs" Amid Escalating Houthi Attacks
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, head of Pakistan's military media wing, told Saudi media on Thursday that Pakistan would support Saudi Arabia diplomatically and militarily, emphasizing that it would defend Saudi Arabia against aggression "at all costs." This statement comes amid escalating Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, raising questions about the positions of Pakistan and Turkey. Both countries recently signed defense agreements with Saudi Arabia, including the "Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement" signed between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan in September 2025, which stipulates that any aggression against one party will be considered an attack on both. Pakistan deployed fighter jets and support aircraft to Saudi Arabia in April this year. Chaudhry also stated that Pakistan would continue to cooperate with regional partners to seek a negotiated peaceful resolution to the regional crisis triggered by the US and Israeli war on Iran.
