Zcash token holders have overwhelmingly voted to retain the scheduled halving mechanism and agreed to postpone the redistribution of ZEC recovered by the Network Sustainability Mechanism until February 2031, when it will begin to be reallocated to future block rewards. This advisory vote was one of five questions for Zcash's next network upgrade, NU7, with each question seeing participation from 2.399 million to 2.404 million ZEC. The voting results also supported deprecating Sprout-era v4 transactions, accelerating block speed, and recommended that features not completed by the September 30 deadline not be released with NU7.
