The Spanish government is open to an Italian olive-oil family winning control of local producer Deoleo SA, according to three officials familiar with the matter, after signaling previously that it preferred a buyer from Spain. Officials consider the family behind Pietro Coricelli SpA the best-positioned suitor for Deoleo, the world's largest maker of olive oil, whose private equity owners said last month they were considering a sale after years of profit struggles.
