The Pentagon has informed Congress that as of September 3, 2026, the U.S. has spent $43.6 billion on military operations against Iran, Bloomberg reported. This includes approximately $11.2 billion in additional costs already disbursed, an estimated $28.1 billion for ammunition replacement, and $4.3 billion for replenishing lost equipment. The military's cost estimate does not yet include potential damages of tens of billions of dollars to U.S. bases in the Middle East caused by Iranian attacks. The cost breakdown shows the Army spent approximately $1.6 billion, the Navy $2.2 billion, and the Air Force $6.6 billion.
