Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong tweeted on Saturday, responding to a Wall Street Journal report in the works that accuses him and Coinbase of causing the failure of the CLARITY Act. Armstrong stated that he had opposed an early draft of the bill from going to a committee vote in January because it had significant issues regarding DeFi, tokenization, CFTC authority, and stablecoin rewards, which would have harmed the crypto industry if passed. He said that with efforts from all parties, these issues were rectified in a draft submitted to the committee about four months later, and he supported the final bill submitted to the Senate.
