SoftBank Group is seeking to issue over $11 billion in junk bonds, which would be one of the largest junk bond deals in history, to fund Masayoshi Son's SoftBank Group's increased investment in ChatGPT creator OpenAI, sources revealed on Monday. SoftBank reportedly plans to issue $10 billion in dollar-denominated securities and €1 billion (approximately $1.1 billion) in euro-denominated notes, with part of the proceeds to be used to complete a follow-on investment in OpenAI next month.
