Alibaba Group CEO Eddie Wu stated at the 2026 Hangzhou Apsara Conference that the company is betting on AI infrastructure with industrial revolution-level strategic ambition. He announced that Alibaba aims to expand the global data center capacity operated by Alibaba Cloud to over 20GW by 2032 to meet rapidly growing AI demand, and simultaneously disclosed plans to train a new generation of AI models with 5 to 10 trillion parameters.
Meanwhile, its chip division T-Head released its latest AI chip, the Zhenwu V900, on the same day. Its hashrate is three times that of its predecessor, the M890, and a single cluster can scale up to 500,000 cards. Alibaba expects a significant increase in T-Head's annual AI chip shipments. Eddie Wu predicted that the total amount of thought supplied by machines in the future will exceed 1,000 times that of humans, and current long-term industry demand already far outstrips supply capacity, with shortages in the global AI data center supply chain constraining hashrate growth. Following the announcement, Alibaba's Hong Kong-listed shares once rose over 4%, reaching a new monthly high.
Alibaba CEO Eddie Wu announced a target for Alibaba Cloud's global data center scale to exceed 20GW by 2032, with plans to train AI models with 5-10 trillion parameters. T-Head, a subsidiary, released its latest AI chip, Wujian V900, which boasts a 3x increase in hashrate.
