Binance faces second US probe over alleged Iran-linked billions in oil sales
US investigators are examining whether Binance knowingly facilitated Iran's crypto-based illegal oil sales through two Chinese entities, violating US sanctions. This follows earlier reports by major media outlets and a prior Justice Department investigation into Iran-linked funds. The US government recently seized $61 million in frozen USDT, allegedly part of Iran's oil trading, which is claimed to have generated $1.5 billion in crypto proceeds for Iran's military and nuclear programs. Binance stated it does not tolerate sanctions violations and cooperates with law enforcement.
