BlackRock White Paper: Blockchain Is Evolving from a Speculative Tool into a Decentralized Value Settlement Network for AI Agents
Global asset manager BlackRock has released a research whitepaper on artificial intelligence (AI) and digital assets, stating that the AI agent economy urgently requires a machine-native financial settlement network. Blockchain is evolving from a human speculative tool into a decentralized value settlement network for autonomous machine economies. The whitepaper outlines three core intersection scenarios: high-frequency, automated machine-to-machine micropayments; programmable interactions of tokenized financial assets; and the financialization and collateralization of computing resources as digital assets. BlackRock emphasizes that this evolution is occurring against the backdrop of stablecoin transaction volumes projected to exceed $11 trillion in 2025 and increasing global regulatory clarity.
