Components of the F-35 stealth fighter, including a cockpit canopy and a weapons bay door, were reportedly diverted to Hong Kong in late May while being shipped by UPS from Australia to the U.S., and are now said to be in the possession of Chinese authorities. Australian Defense Minister Richard Marles stated on Tuesday that Australia is aware of the shipment and is cooperating with the U.S. and Lockheed Martin on the investigation. He added that no sensitive parts were believed to be in the missing shipment.
