The Iraqi Prime Minister's office announced in a statement that Turkey has agreed to gradually transfer its military base in Bashiqa to Iraq. This move aims to resolve a long-standing dispute between the two countries. Additionally, both sides reached an agreement to fully establish state authority in the Sinjar region and end the presence of illegal foreign armed groups, which is seen as a clear reference to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). The leaders of the two countries met on Wednesday during the UN General Assembly in New York and pledged to deepen security cooperation, while also agreeing to expand bilateral trade and investment and accelerate strategic cooperation projects such as the "Development Road" project.
