Major General Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, stated in a recent interview with DropSite news publication that while US sanctions and a naval blockade will cause economic pain, investment damage, and difficulties in sustaining some economic sectors, this does not equate to strategic collapse. Rezaei added that Washington has repeatedly erred in believing that making life difficult for Iranians would force the political system to accept its strategic demands. He emphasized that Tehran's objective is to end the ongoing fighting under conditions that reduce the likelihood of another war.
