Circle Shareholders Sue Donald Trump, Alleging Unconstitutional Profit from $2 Billion UAE Crypto Deal
J. Benjamin Greenberg, a shareholder of stablecoin giant Circle, filed a lawsuit on Thursday, accusing former U.S. President Donald Trump of unconstitutionally profiting $2 billion through crypto transactions allegedly linked to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The lawsuit claims that members of the UAE's ruling family paid $500 million to Trump-backed World Liberty Financial, and that an Abu Dhabi government investment fund provided Trump with $2 billion through World Liberty Financial's USD1 stablecoin product. The suit also alleges that Trump, in exchange for crypto investments, offered advanced AI chips to UAE leadership and pardoned a convicted felon. Donald Trump and the White House have previously denied any conflicts of interest.
