Netanyahu orders "immediate lockdown" of Hebron, prepares for "full closure" of West Bank
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed the Israel Defense Forces and security forces to "immediately blockade" the city of Hebron, following a situational assessment with officials including the head of the Shin Bet and the commander of the Central Command. He added in a post on X that they have been instructed to prepare for a "complete blockade" of the occupied West Bank starting today. This follows a shooting incident at the northern entrance to Hebron in the West Bank, which resulted in the deaths of two Palestinians and injuries to six Israeli soldiers.
