Heatbit announced the launch of its Bitwater water heater element via X on Thursday. The product replaces the heating element in standard electric water heaters with 20 Bitcoin mining chips, using the heat generated from mining to warm the water. The company stated that this achieves "the same heat, the same power, and earns Bitcoin."

The Bitwater element uses 20 Bitmain BM1370 chips, offering a hashrate of up to 34 TH/s and a maximum power consumption of 600 watts. Pre-orders are priced at $899, with an estimated shipping date in Q1 2027. Heatbit claims the product aims to decentralize Bitcoin mining into homes, noting that global household electricity consumption for water heating (approximately 300 terawatt-hours annually) far exceeds that of the entire Bitcoin network (approximately 170 terawatt-hours).
