Foreign ministers from eight countries, including the UK, France, Germany, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt, and Italy, convened in Istanbul on Friday to caution the United States against further attacks on Iran. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot warned that a further escalation between Iran and the US “would create nothing but losers and would undoubtedly have very serious consequences for hydrocarbon prices.” The group also discussed the Strait of Hormuz, Israel’s war on Gaza, fighting in Yemen, and the Russia-Ukraine war.
