Amazon CEO Andy Jassy: AI business's annualized revenue exceeds $25 billion, with a growth rate hundreds of times faster than AWS in its early stages; computing capacity for 2026-2028 is largely sold out.
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy revealed in a recent interview that the company's AI business has an annualized revenue run rate exceeding $25 billion, growing hundreds of times faster than AWS in its early days. He noted that even with a $220 billion investment this year, a significant amount of demand remains unmet, with most of AWS AI compute capacity for 2026, 2027, and 2028 already essentially sold out. Jassy emphasized that to unlock enterprise-grade AI applications, the cost of compute inference needs to decrease by another order of magnitude, and Amazon is working to lower costs through its self-developed chips.
