Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, has urged France, Germany and the UK (known as the E3) to demonstrate the seriousness of their commitment to diplomacy. Baghaei told IRNA that forums like the recent Istanbul meeting between E3 and Middle Eastern foreign ministers must examine the root causes of military action in the region. He condemned the E3's 'double standards' regarding their inaction in the face of US and Israeli military aggression against Iran, their comprehensive support for Israel, and their 'destructive approaches' towards Iran’s nuclear issue.
