U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has reportedly developed plans for a new round of strikes against Iran, potentially targeting Iranian energy facilities, infrastructure, and nuclear sites. U.S. President Donald Trump hinted on Saturday that an attack could be launched "tomorrow," but also left open the possibility of reaching an agreement with Tehran.

The New York Times reported on Wednesday that the U.S. and Israel had developed plans for a joint attack on Iran after the midterm elections. A memo from Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton to Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Friday noted that Iran had "significantly increased its efforts against U.S. personnel," with deadly plots reaching an "advanced stage," and the U.S. State Department had ordered a reduction in staffing at several regional embassies.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian accused Washington of undermining negotiations but stated that efforts to reach an agreement should continue. The Iranian military claimed on Sunday to have shot down a U.S.-made drone over Bandar Abbas.
