Apple Inc. stated on Monday that it has noted user reports of internal screen malfunctions, specifically horizontal bright lines appearing at the hinge, after the launch of its new foldable phone, the iPhone Duo. Apple said that the "small number" of affected devices will be replaced under AppleCare warranty. For iPhone Duo devices outside of warranty, the internal screen repair cost is $999. After a teardown, device repair company iFixit speculated that the issue might be related to Apple's hinge design.
