Profits of China's industrial firms above a designated size rose 14.4% year-on-year in September, accelerating from August's 4.2% growth, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed on Tuesday. Cumulative profits for the first nine months increased by 15.5% year-on-year, slightly lower than the 15.7% growth seen in January-August. The report highlighted continued internal economic divergence, with some sectors like computer, communications, and other electronic equipment manufacturing seeing profits surge 103.8% in the first nine months, while furniture manufacturing declined 51.3%, underscoring the uneven nature of China's economic recovery. CATL, the world's largest electric vehicle battery maker, saw a significant slowdown in its net profit growth last quarter.
