Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan have agreed to continue talks aimed at strengthening regional peace and security. This comes after the Saudi-led coalition stated it had intercepted another wave of missiles and drones launched by Houthi rebels towards the Kingdom. The talks, held in Tehran on Monday, mark the first high-level engagement between Iran and the three signatories of the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement since the US and Israel launched a war on Iran, which then spread to Saudi Arabia and Yemen. In a joint statement released Monday evening, the four nations agreed to continue dialogue to enhance regional cooperation, including promoting regional peace and security. Saudi Arabia stated that its visit to Tehran was intended to open negotiation channels to "prevent a further escalation of military conflict."
