The U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia reissued a security alert, ordering the departure of non-emergency U.S. government employees and their family members from Saudi Arabia, an order first issued by the U.S. Department of State on October 23. The embassy stated on the X platform that due to recent missile and drone attacks by Iranian-backed Houthi forces on airports, U.S. government employees must obtain special authorization from the Chief of Mission to use any airport within Saudi Arabia. The alert also warned citizens of potential further airport attacks, airspace closures, flight cancellations, and travel disruptions. The statement added that all land border crossings, including the King Fahd Causeway to Bahrain, and all highways and roads in and around Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dhahran remain open.
