Luxor Technology raised $16 million to expand into AI hardware brokerage and computing-power trading, betting on a new market for trading computing power. The Seattle-based company, known for its Bitcoin mining services, announced on Tuesday that the funding round was led by CMT Digital, with participation from Bitcoin mining equipment makers Canaan and MicroBT. The move comes as Bitcoin mining companies increasingly convert their facilities into data centers and rent out computing power for AI workloads, with publicly traded miners having signed over $70 billion in AI and high-performance computing contracts by the end of March, according to CoinShares data.
