The Dutch public broadcaster NPO confirmed on Tuesday that the country has withdrawn from the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest, citing "sensitivities" regarding Israel's participation. Jurre Bosman, media director at NPO, stated that Israel's involvement had sparked varied reactions across society, leading to discussions and divisions. Consequently, NPO, in consultation with its board of directors, decided to forgo participation in the 2027 competition. This move follows the Netherlands' previous boycott of the 2026 event, with Iceland, Spain, Ireland, and Slovenia also having withdrawn, the latter three refusing to broadcast the show.
