The Bank of England (BoE) has ordered online bank Revolut to review its internal systems, particularly its product approval processes. According to the Financial Times, the BoE's Prudential Regulation Authority issued a Section 166 directive, requiring Revolut to hire experts to assess the soundness of its business practices. This review will focus on Revolut's approach to new financial products and evaluate whether it has violated relevant laws. The BoE submitted the review around spring, while Revolut obtained its banking license in March and has begun offering personal loans, with plans to enter the mortgage and credit card markets.
