Russian President Vladimir Putin stated, after meeting with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, that Qatar plays a significant role in mediating conflicts between countries, especially in the Gulf region. Putin also noted that trade turnover between Russia and Qatar has grown considerably, that the stability of energy markets relies on effective coordination between the two countries, and that Russia is willing to make every effort to resolve the complex situation in the Middle East.
