Chris Gober, former lawyer for Elon Musk's Political Action Committee (PAC), is running for U.S. Representative in Texas's 10th congressional district, home to Tesla and SpaceX operations, including the Terafab AI chip factory under construction. SpaceX's PAC has donated $10,000 to Gober's campaign. Gober's Democratic opponent, Caitlin Rourk, has highlighted Gober's ties to Musk and the AI industry in her campaign. SpaceX is actively expanding its AI business in 2026, with AI-related revenue soaring ninefold to $7.56 billion in the third quarter. Additionally, Gober's law firm, Lex Politica, is representing Musk and his PAC in a class-action lawsuit during the 2024 general election, with a settlement agreement reached on October 15, though terms were not disclosed. Gober stated that if elected, he would withdraw from all ongoing representations and is working with the House Ethics Committee to comply with regulations.
