Chinese robotics company Unitree Robotics' first financial report after listing: Quarterly revenue surged nearly 70% to 665 million yuan, but AI investments dragged down net profit
Leading Chinese robotics company Unitree Robotics released its first quarterly earnings report since going public on Wednesday, showing quarterly revenue up 69.93% year-on-year to RMB 665 million ($99.7 million). However, due to heavy investment in AI, net profit excluding non-recurring items fell 17.42% year-on-year to RMB 105 million. The report showed that for the three months ended September 30, the company's R&D spending surged 249.58% to RMB 127.04 million, primarily for large AI model and computing power development. Despite the pressure on profits, the IPO brought the company substantial cash, with cash and cash equivalents rising from RMB 1.419 billion at the end of 2025 to RMB 7.354 billion as of September 30. The company's share price rose 8.74% on Wednesday ahead of the earnings release, having previously rebounded on better-than-expected AI model breakthroughs.
