Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin has launched on the Coinbase platform and its Base blockchain, following Moody's granting it an investment-grade credit rating. The protocol announced on Wednesday that RLUSD is now available on Coinbase's retail and institutional trading platforms, expanding the distribution of the USD-backed cryptocurrency. Moody's had previously assigned RLUSD stablecoin an A2 long-term deposit rating and a P-1 short-term deposit rating, which Ripple Senior Vice President Jack McDonald called the first stablecoin to receive an investment-grade rating from Moody's. RLUSD, launched in December 2024, has already surpassed a market capitalization of $2.4 billion.
