According to Al Jazeera, citing data from the European Central Bank's (ECB) 2023 Household Finance and Consumption Survey, there is a significant wealth gap in Europe (Eurozone and two other European countries). The median net wealth for households under 35 years old is approximately €25,000, while for households aged 55-64, it is about €208,000, more than eight times higher. Among the 22 surveyed countries, individuals under 35 hold only 2.8% of the total household wealth, whereas those aged 55-64 hold 24%. Since 2000, prices for everyday goods and services in the Eurozone, Hungary, and the Czech Republic have risen by 67.2%, with housing costs being one of the main drivers of the widening wealth gap.
