Iranian households are facing increasing cost-of-living pressures, exacerbated by eight months of war with the United States, Al Jazeera reported. Official data shows that consumer prices rose by approximately 90% year-on-year in September, with annual inflation accelerating to 73.6%, marking one of the worst price surges in decades. Food and beverage prices soared by 121.8% year-on-year, while rents increased by 32.8%, and utility and fuel costs rose by about 38%. Iranian Minister of Economy Seyed Ali Madanizadeh apologized to citizens for the situation on Tuesday.
