According to U.S. media reports, U.S. Vice President Vance sent a letter to Iranian security chief Mohsen Rezaei, proposing to restart peace talks to avoid a potential new round of U.S. strikes against Iran. The letter suggested that Vance would lead the U.S. delegation for the talks, with Iran's nuclear program as a negotiation topic, and that the talks could take place as early as next week in Qatar or Turkey. The Iranian side "received the letter well," and Rezaei is expected to respond on Thursday.

However, U.S. President Donald Trump denied instructing Vance to conduct peace talks, stating that Vance's outreach to Iran was aimed at providing medical supplies. At the same time, Donald Trump warned U.S. Gulf allies to prepare for a "brief, high-intensity military operation" against Iran that could occur after the midterm elections.
