The Israeli army's military blockade of Hebron, the largest city in the West Bank, has continued for seven days, accompanied by raids, home demolitions, arrests, and displacement. Reportedly, two Palestinians have been injured, seven arrested, and over 3,000 forced to leave their homes. Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian communities, and the army fired tear gas at hospitals and isolated 12 villages. Palestinian officials accuse the Israeli government under Prime Minister Netanyahu of using this operation to gain votes. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk stated that collective punishment is a serious violation of international law and expressed grave concern over the threat to "empty and erase entire communities," which he believes raises fears of ethnic cleansing.
