Former Palantir Execs Launch Dream with $17M a16z-Led Seed Round to Disrupt Construction with AI World Models
Former Palantir executives Andy Alder and Arjun Mather have launched Dream, a startup that aims to automate building design and engineering for the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. Dream emerged from stealth with $17 million in seed funding led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with participation from SV Angel, XYZ, and Zigg Capital. The company plans to challenge established AEC tools like Autodesk's AutoCAD and Revit by training its AI world model on over 100 million square feet of building data from U.S. permit archives, enabling it to generate structurally precise designs. Dream has already begun selling its product and is deployed across 10 active projects in Texas and California.
