Stablecoin issuers including Tether, Circle, Ripple, and Donald Trump-affiliated World Liberty Financial have frozen over $2.6 billion in digital assets linked to a suspected security breach at Binance, which involved nearly $6 billion in outflows. Specifically, Tether froze over $1.567 billion in USDT on October 29, Circle froze approximately $823 million in USDC, Ripple reportedly froze about $200 million, World Liberty Financial froze $27 million in USD1, and Paxos also froze over $8 million worth of PAX Gold tokens. Furthermore, attackers continued to move assets after the initial freeze, depositing $60 million in USDT to Aave and borrowing approximately 19,800 ETH (worth $45 million), leading Aave to pause most of its Ethereum lending markets. Binance has confirmed it is investigating the suspicious activity and stated that customer assets are secure.
