The Korea Exchange (KRX) activated its sell-side circuit breaker for the benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) on Friday due to a sharp decline in the index. According to the KRX, program trading for KOSPI-listed stocks was halted for five minutes starting at 10:04 AM KST. As of 10:06 AM, the KOSPI index was down 277.75 points, or 4.68%, at 5,661.7 points, after opening down 2.99%. The decline was influenced by overnight losses on Wall Street and growing concerns about market sustainability.
