Aave risk service provider LlamaRisk stated that a wallet linked to the Binance attacker deposited approximately 60 million USDT into Aave V3 Ethereum Core between 20:58 and 21:01 UTC on October 29, and borrowed 19,762 WETH (worth approximately 44.6 million USD). Aave subsequently froze all DAO-operated V3 and V4 markets as a precautionary measure, pausing new deposits and borrowing, but users can still withdraw and repay existing loans. This freeze affected 175 V3 reserves across 16 networks and 117 V4 reserves across 4 networks. Aave stated that its contracts were not affected and aims to lift the freeze as soon as possible.
